If you are currently enrolled in a political party and wish to
change parties, your new party privileges become effective in three
months.
You may vote by absentee ballot if you are unable to vote in person
because of:
* illness or physical disability
* active service in the US armed forces;
* absence from town during election hours;
* religious beliefs forbidding secular activity on primary day;
* service as an election official at a polling place other than your
own.
You can get an application for an absentee ballot from the Greenwich
Town Clerk or from the Secretary of the State -
click here to download. Allow enough time to receive and
complete the application as well as to return the completed ballot
by primary day.
The legislature has passed an amendment to the
Connecticut Constitution allowing 17 year old pre-registered
youngsters who will be 18 by election day to vote in the primary. It
is one more effort to broaden citizen right to vote.
